Use of a Hispeed4U HOT
ZONE requires a wireless network card (WiFi) using the
802.11 standard. These cards are available for most
laptops and some PDAs. Use of the hot zone requires
you to set up your computer to use the wireless card
for internet service.
Setting Up A Windows
Computer for Wireless Networking:
In the START menu, go to Control Panel, then open
Network Connections control panel. Select your Wireless
Network Connection (e.g. the name of your wireless
card sometimes) in the list of network components.
Double click "Wireless Internet Connection" and make
sure the checkbox which reads "Allow me to connect
to the selected wireless network, even thought it
is not secure" is checked and click Connect.
Setting Up A Macintosh
Computer for Wireless Networking:
Open System Preferences, be sure to check that Airport
is turned on. Then select "Network" in System Preferences,
set Location to "Automatic" and show "Airport". Under
the TCIP/IP Setting, configure using DHCP. "Apply
Now" and you should be surfing. Open a web browser
window and point to any URL. Sign up using the HiSpeed4U
redirect page and you're up and running.
